The Creek Rat Comic Strip has its origins from Topanga Canyon, California. Topanga Creek, behind the main boulevard in the Center of the canyon, by the Post Office and Joe's Market, was a favorite Hippy Hangout for us kids in the 60's and 70's and there were lots of rats by the Creek too including lots of Hippies. As kids, we hung out at the Creek waiting for the Corral to open or just to hang out spending time collecting rocks, wading in the pools and under the waterfalls or just to enjoy the Magic of Topanga Canyon. It was a great time to be a kid and Topanga Canyon was the place to be. All the locals called us Creek Rats. Denn Tezzier was known as the Cartoonist Kid of Topanga Canyon and the Creek and was asked to start up a comic strip for publication in the Topanga Messenger Newspaper - thats how the Creek Rat Cartoons Comic Strip was born!  Creekrat has been published many times through the years including syndications. The main comic strip character, Creekrat, still lives in Topanga Canyon but the times have changed as they have fer most and today, Creekrat is a prominent attorney with a highly successful Big Law Practice in Santa Monica, California. The Creekrat Comics Strip still makes apperances to this day. If you ever make it up to Topanga Canyon, you can still feel the Magic of the Beach, the Canyon and the Creek.
